| Alcatel-Lucent and Quantum SpA cooperate to extend the reach of DVB-SH Mobile TV |

Paris and Milan, May 6, 2008 – Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) and Quantum SpA, the premier supplier of innovative mobile multimedia devices and software, today announced that both companies are setting up a cooperation in the Mobile TV market. The objective of this cooperation is to develop terrestrial or hybrid (terrestrial and satellite) mobile broadcast solutions adhering to the new DVB-SH mobile broadcast standard. This cooperation will allow both companies to develop new mobile TV business opportunities related to mobile TV access worldwide on Portable Multimedia Players (PMP), and Automotive digital set up boxes. DVB-SH (Digital Video Broadcasting - Satellite services to Handhelds) is an evolution of DVB-H and a powerful mobile broadcast standard allowing cost-effective mobile TV deployments. It can be used in any frequency spectrum below 3GHz, including UHF, L band and S band, in terrestrial, satellite or hybrid networks. The DVB-SH standard was approved by the DVB Project in February 2007 and by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) in March 2008.
