Quantum new connected Personal TV Media Player integrates Discretix OMA BCAST Multi-Scheme Mobile TV

IBC2008, RAI Amsterdam, NL – September 13.09.2008 – Quantum, the leading mobile TV industry player (www.qtmtv.com), and Discretix, the leading provider of embedded security and DRM solutions for mobile devices (www.discretix.com), today announced the integration of the world’s first Multi-Scheme Mobile TV Security Client fully compliant with OMA BCAST DRM and SmartCard profile into Quantum’s DVB-H “VideoTouch” personal TV media Player.

The move enables Mobile Network Operators to expand their choice from videophones to the ultimate mobile TV experience offered by the 4.3” screen of the new VideoTouch which positions as the perfect companion for MNO’s communications and entertainment subscription packages.

Selected Quantum partners will provide their media mobility experience through the new VideoTouch (Motorola: booth 1.D31; Alcatel Lucent: booth 12P,C20)

The Discretix Multi-Scheme MobileTV Security Client secures the distribution and consumption of mobile TV broadcasts. The Client implements mobile TV schemes in use today, associated cases and scenarios. In addition, it provides an easy migration path to add new schemes as they emerge. The Client supports the standard conditional access (CA) schemes defined by OMA BCAST SmartCard and DRM profiles and DVB-H IPDC 18Crypt.The Discretix MobileTV Security Client ensures a completely transparent user experience, with no degradation in performance or playback time.
